About Dr. Nawaz
Hello! I’m Anuscheh, a researcher and engineer with a passion for the planet Earth. I have over 20 years of experience and currently work at the Applied Physics Laboratory where I lead a dynamic team of students and professionals in projects that aim to utilize today’s technology to produce data that can serve as a beacon to decision makers in science, community, and policy.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with leaders and pioneering innovative solutions in space, ocean and atmospheric sciences. My journey began with a Ph.D. in Space Transportation Technology from the University of Stuttgart, where I developed and investigated a pulsed plasma thruster for the lunar mission BW1. Since then, I have worked at NASA Ames characterizing arc jets for re-entry, founded and worked at a start-up company for gas sensors and particulates, and utilized the knowledge and experience I gained in oceanography, solidifying my reputation as an innovator across the fields.
Outside of work, you can find me enjoying the great outdoors, and continuously exploring my body and mind through yoga and meditation. I believe in the power of bringing people together to foster a deeper connection with our planet. This belief drives my mission to develop sustainable solutions that benefit both people and the environment.
I’m always excited to connect with fellow professionals and explore new opportunities for collaboration. Let’s work together to create a more sustainable and connected world.

Meet the Team
